During the AAU Jr. Olympic Games, @ Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Va, there is a 16 year old sprinter named John Patrone from Gray, TN.  Since day three, he has been blazing the track finishing with seasons best and PR's in both the 100 and 200 meters. This is Patrones last meet of the season and his goal is to finish out, on a Great note hopefully with a title in either event on his way back to Tennessee.  Patrones first event was the 100m prelims and he ran a cruising 11.00 to finish second to Jerimy Strainge of Coral Springs, Fla (10.85) advancing to the semi-finals round. In the semi-finals, Patrone had blazed a time of 10.84, to advance him to the final round. Therefore, while he was blazing the track in the 100m, Patrone was making a name for himself in the 200m as well. In the 200m prelims, he had posted a time of 22.85 advancing him to the semi-finals round. Mean while during the 200m semi-finals, Patrone had blazed a season best and PR time of 22.22, but it was not enough to advance him to the final round.

His coach Ex-Professional (Asics) Runner Roderick Tolbert said that John had a great run in both events, but in the 200 there was just faster guys.  He also stated that John should make a great run at the 100m on saturday during the finals hopefully to run under 10.84 in which will make another PR for the young 16 year old track standout.
